Description

This dataset contains octocoral field codes for species names from survey conducted in St. John, US Virgin Islands between 2014 to 2017.

The related dataset: octocoral transects - adult colony height contains the field codes in this species list.

BCO-DMO data manager processing notes:
* after communication with the data contributor:
* changed Eunicea lacinata to accepted spelling Eunicea laciniata
* changed capitalization of field codes to all lower case
* Removed Plexaurella pumila and the synonym Plexaurella grandiflora as they were not in the transect dataset.
* Did not remove Plexaurella fusifera or synonym Plexaurella dichotoma
* there were two species with code mpi, changed Muriceopsis petila to code "mup"
