A ratio is the relative size of two quantities expressed as the quotient of one divided by the other. The numbers in a ratio may be quantities or measurements of any kind, such as counts, lengths, weights, or concentrations, for example. When two quantities are measured with the same unit, as is often the case, their ratio is a dimensionless number.
