Methods & Sampling

Work took place at Shoals Marine laboratory, Appledore Island, ME using Carcinus maenas collected from the Great Bay Estuary at University of New Hampshire Jackson Estuarine Lab at Adams Point, New Hampshire.

Data Processing Description

Mean hemocyte densities were calculated from the average counts of 6 squares on a KOVA hemocytometer slide, and are corrected for dilution of the hemolymph with anticoagulant to give an estimate of total hemocytes per uL of hemolymph.

BCO-DMO Processing:
- added conventional header with dataset name, PI name, version date, reference information
- renamed parameters to BCO-DMO standard
- reformated date from m/d/yyyy to yyyy-mm-dd
- added site, lat, lon columns for mapping purposes
