quality flag; based on a PI established code; identifies a problem/quality issue with sample(s) from a given water bottle or single observation
Quality flag for dissolved iron concentration from bottle samples, as follows: 1 = good. 2 = good; average of at least two determinations on different days. 3 = good; analyzed without preconcentration and concentration presented to one decimal place. 4 = possibly contaminated; determination anomalously high and/or significantly higher than other analysts in intercalibration. 5 = likely contaminated; shore-based determination significantly higher than shipboard determination. 6 = data are for samples from second deep cast conducted at station.
