Photosynthesis is a process by which plants and other organisms use light energy and chlorophyll to convert water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds. Photosynthesis is one of the mechanisms responsible for Primary Production. The methods used to estimate rate of photosynthesis vary widely as do the units of measurement.
