Abstract

Laboratory experiments were conducted on schools of Antarctic krill in the novel annular flume at Palmer Station, Antarctica, in November 2022. Using overhead camera along with stereophotogrammetry system the swimming trajectories of krill were recorded while altering flow and light levels in the tank. The .mat and 4 .csv files are resultant files from DLTdv8 software by Tyson Hedrick. The .mat file can be loaded in DLTdv8 software along with 3 camera videos (cam 2, cam 5, and cam 4). Cam 2 is the left camera (movie 1), cam 5 is the middle camera (movie 2), and cam 4 is the right camera (movie 3). Cam 1 is overhead camera and is not used for 3D coordinates.

The DLTdv8_data_xyzpts.csv datafiles for each set up have been processed as primary data file for this dataset alnding page. It has all the coordinates (x, y, and z). It has x, y, and z coordinates of all krill at all time points in the field of view. Columns 1-3 are x, y, and z coordinates of krill 1, columns 4-6 are x, y, and z coordinates of krill 2, column 7-9 x, y, and z coordinates of krill 3, and so on. Each row is different frame (time point). Row 2 is frame 1, row 3 is frame 2, and so on. The time difference between rows should be 1/20 seconds.
